On the road again

Hi once again friends and family,
We are back in the van and heading south to see a bit more of our glorious country. First stop Urunga, a lovely little seaside town only a few hours south. The North Coast put on a spectacular couple of days - not a cloud in the gorgeous blue sky, warm in the sun, cool in the shade and a caravan park 10 metres from the river.

We did a lap of the town - everything you need here; pub, club, cafes and the basics. A great waterfront onto parks and playgrounds with walkways and a jetty come boardwalk (1.2 k) out to the beach. The pelicans and birdlife were out at sunset along with some heathland kangaroos, ducks, gulls, rabbits and a whale and calf at the end or the boardwalk. All is well in the world.

The next morning we headed for the Waterfall Way and up the plateau to Dorrigo - a lovely little town with a great waterfall where we actually saw a platypus in the middle of the day. Haven't seen one outside a zoo for years. Good to see they are still around.

Headed to the National Park and a skywalk out over the edge of the plateau - Toni actually Mmade it without a worry. Then down the track to the base of the plateau and another waterfall. It falls in front of a cave where you can walk behind the vale of water. Spectacular. Uphill back to the car park was a bit huffy and puffy but really a pleasant walk.

Back down to Bellingen, reminiscent of Mullum and Nimbin, a great art gallery come collection of eclectic shops and a pleasant stroll down the Main Street.

Back home to the Van Park via the seafood place - a couple of dozen Sydney Rocks with a nice Chardonnay and Fish n Salad for tea after a stroll down the boardwalk to check for whales, roos and a lovely pink sunset.

Slept like babies - nice to be back on the road.
