Cold and Crisp

Back again,

Headed into town for the local markets, fun but we are spoilt in the Shire, great if you wanted jams, jellies and knits. Good for a wander. The town Art Gallery is brilliant and we spent some time checking it out - this town is heritage and culture all rolled up in one.

Then we were off, south to Severnlea and Severn Brae Wines - not so keen on the wine but their blue cheese was brilliant, right up to when Toni was violently ill the next day - not so nice then sonny jim. Mt Stirling Olives was brilliant and our new favourite olives are manzanilla in raspberry vinegar and rosemary - yum yum yum. We visited fudge factories, jams and jellies, preserves, chilli and chocolate - no we are not food fixated, much. Visited Mason wines to grab a bottle for next time Maso visits for tea. Golden Grove and Symphony Wines  had lots to offer and we retired for lunch at the Storm King Dam.

Stanthorpe is certainly a gem and worth a visit. The next day was a repeat, we went North this time to Vincenzos at the big apple for goodness sake, nuh, absolutely brilliant - every food you can think of, meats, cheeses, fruits, oils, spices and on and on. Like a mix of Essential Ingredient and Bibina - we learnt not to judge a book by its cover. They cooked us a baguette and we left laden with produce and lunch was organised.

Visited Heritage Wines and Robert Channon (our favourite) also a great Cheesery - granite Belt Cheeses - he is the Dairy farmer, she is the cheese maker - so much more professional than the other.

Found a gem of a coffee shop that any city would be proud to boast about - Brinx Cafe. Great coffee and great food and produce. I spent an hour wanting and browsing their shelves. The poor barista didn't draw breathe so obviously the town appreciates the quality.

A walk in the afternoon and then a sleep - all this food, wine, exercise and fresh air is hard work.
