Today we have planned a trip on the river, from Waterloo to Greenwich, down the Thames past lots of buildings, old and new and under many bridges, London Bridge, Tower of London, the Gherkin, the Shard, St Katherine's dock and down to the O2 Arena. A great way to see London. The O 2 is huge with theatres, stadiums, restaurants and cafes as well as a design and architecture school and a station and associated shops. Sushi, sashimi and miso for lunch.
We take the underground back to London Bridge and walked to Tower of London, St Olaves the oldest church in England, past Fenchurch station, the Leadenhall Markets where The Harry Potter scene was filmed in Diagon Alley and the pub from the same. We walked past the Lloyd's Bank building a very futuristic building, amazing architecture. In this area there were plenty of bankers and solicitors, very well dressed in suits, tie, cravats, pointy shoes, umbrellas and briefcases all having lunchtime beers at the old pubs in the area. Don't know how much work got done in the afternoon.
