Up and at em, another beautiful spring morning and we are heading down through Lambeth to the Thames. Only a short stroll from the studio; we wander past Lambeth Walk and down to the churchyard where William Bligh is buried. A hero in the UK, just don't tell the Norfolk Islanders. It's overgrown but is deliberately planted like this and looks beautiful in the city scape. All green, tumbling flowers and cottage style ferns and ivy, beautiful.
Head out the churchyard gates towards the river and past Lambeth Palace - small, pretty, well kept and with strong ties to the Royal family.
Over the road is the Lambeth Bridge and a lovely river stroll past a couple of well supported cafes. We sat on the river for a while people watching and boat watching and then headed home to get ready for The Commitments Show this arvo.
Caught the Underground and walked to the Palace Theatre in the West End. They came around and upgraded us to move forward - yay we thought. BUT when we moved it was too close, you had to sit looking up and that was without considering the man mountain in front of us. So we headed back to wence we came and still had a brilliant view and great time. Except we had to extend the mortgage because Toni had an ice-cream at interval.
Afterwards it was a stroll through China Town, some yum cha for early dinner and a long easy stroll across the Jubilee Bridge.
We were in such a happy place we decided to stroll further east along the Thames to see the Globe Theatre and The Golden Hinde, Sir Francis Drakes ship.
Being a Sunday the walk home was busy along the River and full of families doing the same, food trucks, cafes, restaurants, The Wheel and lots of buskers.
What a lovely Sunday.
