Kampong Glam

Up fairly early to head for breakfast downstairs, the lovely Ibis lady at the front office added breakfast to our package because she felt sorry for us. What a spread - all the usual suspects - pastries, croissants, bacon and eggs, fruits and cereals and then sushi and miso, salads, curries and nanas, steamed dim sum, samosa and fish porridge. First time I have had prawn dumplings for breakfast. But. No one seems to be able to do coffee in Singapore - but we are still looking!
Yummy prawn dumplings for breakfast, went well with chocolate croissants and bacon and eggs :)

On to the mundane - got the washing done whilst Ross snoozed and stretched - when we get home it is physio, gym and yoga for that little black duck I tell you. Read a book, started another and then ready for a stroll to loosen up the back

Headed to Kampong Glam, the Malaysian/Muslim area. Singapore changes from one corner to the next and we are quickly into narrow, brightly coloured lane ways with cafes, trendy eclectic shops, cafes and wonderful shopping. Kate and Ruby you would love shopping in Haji Lane.

The next is Arab street - fabric shops, carpets, lamps, cafes, bubble pipes being smoked on the sidewalk and shopkeepers calling for you to come into their shops. The Mosque is beautiful as are many of the people.

Home through the Markets and a couple of Portuguese tarts to take home for a cup of tea.
