The flight was great - half empty, great service and we had room to stretch and snooze. Watched movies and read - spoilt after our cleaning frenzy.
Changi was easy to negotiate and we caught a taxi into the City through beautiful gardens and parks - very dry- they haven't had rain for a month and their gorgeous crows nest and stag horns are dying, but the bougainvillea is spectacular.
Quick check in at Ibis and a walk in the sticky heat in search of tea and a quick look around. Found Victors Dim Sum cafe and had an interesting selection. Their speciality is Golden Lava Buns.
A wander around Bugis and the Bencoolen area found lots going on - the city comes alive in the evening with people strolling and eating at amazing cafes and markets, market stalls and shops are open and the place is bustling. Food is varied and some we could only guess at. Will head back to the Hawkers Markets for tea tomorrow night it looks fabulous - prices from $2 up.
Today we wandered around the area and saw some great architecture - the DeSalle Performing Arts School is spectacular, headed through Albert Court and into Little India. Amazing sights and colours, busy, bustling, hot and steamy. A huge variety of cultures and languages.
3 hours of trekking and it's home for a nap and a cool down before heading out again. Maybe a stroll to Raffles - to look but not for a Singapore Sling -at $30 each we plan on making our own when we get home instead.
Must fly Ross is awake and ready to head out and explore.
